Vaccination clinic opens at Seneca’s Newnham Campus

Closed by the pandemic for a year, the Newnham Campus gym has found a new purpose as a huge COVID-19 vaccination site.

As part of the province’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout, Seneca has partnered with North York General Hospital to become the site of its main community vaccination clinic. While the clinic is being run by the hospital, Seneca’s nursing students will be part of the medical team.

Clubhouse theme song opens doors for Seneca rapper
It may be just another buzzy social platform, but the star-studded Clubhouse app will always be special for the Seneca grad who gave it its eponymous theme song.

Rap artist Greezy Deckz, born Kyle Duncan-Williams, recently collaborated with Calgary-based DJ Bacpac and created a song named after the popular app. Shortly after Mr. Deckz played his tune in a virtual room on Clubhouse, he was offered his first-ever distribution deal for the single.

Sister act promotes mental health with animal-inspired streetwear
Sabrina, Sophia, and Simra Nizamuddin recently launched Spirit Redefined, a streetwear line inspired by animals and designed to support mental health and wellness.

Sabrina and Sophia are both graduates of Seneca’s Business Management – Marketing advanced diploma program. Together with Simra, they bring professional experiences in marketing, content strategy, branding, and social media — skills they are happy to put to use for a good cause.

Accept the Alumni Pay It Forward Challenge

For the past year, the world has been turned upside down. The global pandemic continues to be a major disruptor in our lives.

The college experience as we know is forever changed, and our staff continue to work tirelessly to meet the academic, emotional and financial needs of our students.

The Alumni Pay It Forward Challenge is one of the ways graduates like you can support students facing financial difficulties – including those caused by COVID-19.

To date, 344 students have received $500 bursaries thanks to the Pay It Forward Challenge, totaling $167,500 in financial support for students.

Our goal is to reach 300 donations from our alumni by May 31 to unlock an extra $20,000 in bursaries for current Seneca students.

This spring, please help our students look towards a future beyond COVID by making your Pay It Forward donation, today.

Thank you for your generosity!
