From Toronto to New York: Award-winning journalist on getting her dream job


Award-winning journalist Stephanie Bertini always dreamed of living in New York City. Ms. Bertini graduated from the Journalism diploma program at Seneca Polytechnic in 2007. She worked her way up in Canada and the U.S. before becoming a reporter at Fox 5 New York in 2022. She’s earned a number of honours for her work and her series Migrants in America: In Their Own Words was nominated for a New York Emmy Award in 2024. In addition to her reporting, Ms. Bertini teaches, sits on journalism-related boards and is passionate about giving back to the industry.

April Tolosa, a self-taught Filipina artist based in Toronto, is the owner of Appato and a proud Seneca graduate. Working in acrylics and mixed media, her vibrant, whimsical pieces celebrate the joy and wonder of childhood, dreams and imagination. Ms. Tolosa’s art is rooted in positivity, aiming to uplift and inspire through colourful scenes of adventure and play.

New partnership between Seneca Polytechnic and Confederation College to create opportunities for students across Ontario


Seneca Polytechnic and Confederation College have announced a new strategic partnership to enhance opportunities for students across Ontario and address critical skill gaps in key industries.


The collaboration will initially focus on Aviation programming while also exploring the potential for a unique Veterinary Technician program model in Northwestern Ontario.

The new HOYA Vision Care Eyeglass Dispensing Lab at Seneca’s Newnham Campus replicates a high-end retail optical dispensing and vision-testing environment. Employees at webTactics have one less time-consuming task on their plates thanks to a recent collaboration between the recruitment marketing agency and Seneca Polytechnic researchers.


The time-consuming work of creating unique job postings — a small subset of the services webTactics provides — is now the domain of a custom generative AI app developed at Seneca.

Seneca Polytechnic and GLS University team up to enhance international education opportunities


Seneca Polytechnic has announced a new partnership with India’s GLS University that will provide students with a unique pathway to an international education and a world-recognized bachelor's degree. The partnership will give students the opportunity to enrol in GLS University’s Global Programme, begin their studies at GLS University’s campus in Ahmedabad, India and after their first year, transfer credits so they can continue the program in Canada.

  

Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Computer Science degrees will be available to students through the partnership.
