New programs launching in January 2026 


This January, Seneca is launching two exciting new programs designed to help students expand their career opportunities. 



 

Both programs integrate AI tools and software, equipping students with cutting-edge skills to enhance their work in today’s tech-driven industries. 


These programs are PGWP-eligible, giving international graduates the opportunity to gain Canadian work experience. International applicants may also qualify for an entrance scholarship to help reduce tuition costs.

Collaborative research on innovative eyelid hygiene formulations


Dry eye is a common disorder of the eye surface that occurs when eyes don’t produce enough tears or produce tears with abnormal composition. Seneca Applied Research collaborated with I-MED Pharma — a Montreal-based company that specializes in solutions for dry eye, also known as ocular surface disorder — to study one of their eye hygiene products.

48-hour film competition brings ‘jaw-dropping win’


In Filipino culture, pagpag is a ritual traditionally performed after a funeral to shake off lingering spirits and stop them from following you home. Ignoring pagpag is said to bring about bad luck yet basing a short film on it seems to have a very different outcome.


Several Seneca Polytechnic graduates were part of the team that recently beat out 58 competitors to win Best Film at a Toronto 48 Hour Film Project event for Pagpaga horror short that they had to create from scratch over one adrenaline-packed weekend.

Identifying a more sustainable source for a health-boosting metabolite


Researchers at Seneca Polytechnic have found that one person's trash can truly be somebody else’s treasure.


This discovery began with a collaboration between the Seneca Centre for Innovation in Life Sciences (SCILS) and Wellesley Therapeutics, a pharmaceutical research and development company.


Wellesley Therapeutics manufactures products that contain N-Acetylglucosamine (NAG), a metabolite that can improve human health by acting as both an anti-inflammatory and an immunomodulator.
