Dear Seniors, Parents, and Guardians,

We hope that this letter finds you and your family safe and healthy. As we move towards the conclusion of the school year and your graduation from Archbishop Carroll, we want to provide you with an academic schedule for the remainder of the school year. Not much has changed from the original Senior Fourth Quarter timeline, but we want you to be able to view it all in one place as we move closer to the end of the year.

Please note that each course will have a final exam or a final project assigned to complete the year. Each exam or project counts for 10% of the student’s final grade in each course.

Should a Senior fail to complete their final project, they could run the risk of failing a course for the school year. We are making every effort with the students to ensure that this does not happen and will continue to do so over the next few weeks.

Should a Senior fail a course, their name will still be read aloud at Graduation with their peers and they will be able to collect their yearbook and senior gift at the assigned time.  However, their diploma and transcript will be held until the appropriate amount of work has been completed.

Please review the academic timeline below for the completion of the school year FOR SENIORS ONLY:

Tuesday, May 19th - Final Projects can be assigned in the following subjects: ELA, Theology, Science, Fine Arts, and Physical Education
Wednesday, May 20th - Final day of NEW instruction for all classes. Final Projects can be assigned in the following subjects: Math, Social Studies, World Language, and BCIT
Note: Final Projects can be assigned by teachers prior to these dates.

Thursday, May 28th - Senior Exam Day #2. Exams can be given in the following subjects: Math, Social Studies, World Language, and BCIT. Final projects in those subject areas will be due by 11:59PM that evening.
Note: Should a student have multiple exams in a specific subject area, a time will be coordinated as to when the 2nd test should be given.
Friday, May 29th - Any makeup exams due to documented illness or issue will be administered at specific, assigned times.
Monday, June 1st - Final Senior grades are due to the Office for Academic Affairs. Failures will be contacted at this time.

Final exams or projects will consist of material learned in the second semester only. Final exams or projects in AP courses may be more comprehensive. Teachers will be available throughout this process via e-mail for any questions that students may have.

More information will be following shortly on the return of school materials and the pick up of personal materials and graduation materials.

Finally, please know how incredibly proud we are of the work that the Seniors have done, not just over these last nine weeks, but over their four years at Archbishop Carroll.  And while the next three weeks will certainly look much more differently than we ever could have imagined, we are still looking forward to celebrating their successes with them as they complete this important chapter in their lives and move forward toward their next challenges.

As always, we have attempted to present our information to you as clearly as possible.  Yet, we realize that you may have questions about individual circumstances.  Please feel free to contact either Mr. Gennaro or me.

Sincerely,
Dr. Anchen Schulz, Principal
Mr. William Gennaro, Assistant Principal for Academic Affairs
