It’s time to celebrate our seniors! In less than two short weeks, they will officially be done with their senior year. While we wish more than anything we could celebrate with them in our traditional ways, that is simply not possible right now. We are working on finding a new date to hold an in-person graduation and Baccalaureate Mass. Until then, we have worked around the clock to think of ways to highlight the unique qualities of our seniors. Below, you will find information for our plan to celebrate National College Signing Day, Senior Awards, a Mass in their honor and a senior cruise down memory lane on what would have been the Class of 2020’s graduation night.
Virtual National College Signing Day
On Friday, May 1st we will hold a virtual National College Signing Day! Join our watch party on our Facebook page or watch it on our YouTube at 12:50 p.m. We have a pre-recorded video ceremony where we will show photos of each of our seniors and their plans for after graduation. In the coming days, each senior will receive a college signing day/armed services certificate in their emails. We invite them to wear college gear and sign the certificate during the virtual ceremony. Please send us photos and tag @garces.memorial and @garcesasb on Instagram stories so we can share!
Senior Mass and Slide Show
While we cannot be together in person to celebrate our Baccalaureate Mass that was originally schedule for May 11th, Monsignor Perry has graciously offered to pre-record a Mass in honor of our seniors in St. Dominic Chapel. At the end of Mass, the Senior Slide Show will be played as part of the recording. We will post the recording on our Facebook page and our website on May 11th at 7 p.m. We invite you and your family to join us in celebrating our seniors at this special virtual Mass. This Mass is not replacing our Baccalaureate Mass, as we are still planning to hold that in-person when it is safe to do so.
Senior Cruise Down Memory Lane and Senior Awards
In an effort to remind our seniors how much we treasure them, we are planning a special trip down memory lane on May 12th at 7 p.m. - the day and time they were supposed to be crossing the stage and turning their tassels as a class at graduation. We will be sending more information and a special surprise to our seniors in the mail in the coming days. We are still planning to hold a traditional graduation ceremony later this summer when it is safe to do so.
We are so proud of the Class of 2020 and how hard they all have worked over the last four years, and especially over the last two months. We cannot wait to celebrate them! We are Garces!
