  • Senior Center will be closed on Monday, May 30, 2022, in observance of Memorial Day.
  • In celebration of Older Americans Month, please join us for the Active Aging Series - Age My Way.
  • Senior Resource Fair returns in person Tuesday, May 24, from 3 - 6 p.m.
  • Social Services: SALA, HICAP, and Notary have returned for in-person appointments.
  • Book Club is returning! If you are interested in joining Book Club, they meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 11 a.m. in Multipurpose Room B. The club would love for you to join them beginning on May 10.
  • The Mountain View Senior Center Courtyard is in need of a makeover. We are looking for a group of volunteers to beautify this area. If you are interested, please contact the Front Desk in person or by phone at 650-903-6330.
  • Masks are strongly encouraged inside the Senior Center regardless of vaccination status.

Bingocize
Looking for a fun, new way to be more active? Bingocize is an evidence-based fall prevention program led by Stanford Health Care that combines the game of bingo with exercise. Bingo+Exercise=Bingocize! Please bring water and wear comfortable clothing and shoes to exercise.

T'ai Chi
The ancient Chinese martial art form of T’ai Chi was developed to enhance both physical and emotional wellbeing. Come join us for a relaxing afternoon with Senior Center T’ai Chi instructor, Olivia Wang, who will be leading a demonstration. All levels of experience welcomed.

Gentle Yoga
The more strength and control that we have available to us in all of our ranges of motion the better prepared our body will be to support us.  Please join Yoga Instructor, Lauren Martino, for a slow paced series of sitting and standing poses focused on joint health. We'll pair a low impact flow with mindful breath work as we stretch our way through the body. The practice is specifically designed to meet you where you are and all are welcome. Please wear comfortable clothing. Yoga mats and props (blocks, blankets, straps) are highly encouraged!

Grab & Go lunch
Lunches are served as Grab & Go in the Senior Center Social Hall until further notice. Please park your car and stand in line accordingly. Lunch distribution takes place Monday to Friday (no Holidays) and each week's menu is posted on our website.

Movies are on Tuesdays and Fridays at 1 p.m.
Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
Come to one of our movie showings in Multipurpose Room B.
Maximum seating for movies is 36. First come, first serve.
When available, screenings have captions for the hard-of-hearing. There is no fee to enjoy these popular movies and seating begins 30 minutes before the show.
NOTE: Please bundle up or bring a lap blanket with you to the movie. The room tends to be on the cooler side.

Senior Adults Legal Assistance
SALA has returned to in-person appointments at the Senior Center on the first Wednesday of each month from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. In order to receive free legal services, patrons must be at least 60 years of age and a Santa Clara County resident. To schedule an appointment please call the Senior Center Front Desk at 650-903-6330. 
HICAP
Health Insurance Counseling & Advocacy Program
HICAP provides free and objective information and counseling about Medicare. Appointments are available on the third Monday and the fourth Tuesday of each month. Volunteer counselors can help you understand your specific rights and health care options. To schedule an appointment, stop by the Front Desk or call 650-903-6330.
AARP Safe Driver Course
AARP has returned to in-person Driving Courses. Appointments are required and can be made by contacting the Front Desk in person or calling 650-903-6330.

The Refresher Course, for those who passed the class within 4 years, is a 4-hour class from 4 - 8 p.m. on May 5.

Those not qualifying for the Refresher Course must attend 8-hours. Two 4-hour classes are offered on Thursday, May 19 and 26 from 4 - 8 p.m. Must attend eight hours to receive a certificate.
Notary
When you have documents that need proper filing with verified identification, our Notary is available the first Tuesday of the month from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. Appointments are required and can be made by contacting the Front Desk in person or calling 650-903-6330.

Pick-up will take place in the back of the Senior Center parking lot and in Multipurpose A. Brown Bag will operate under normal hours, 9 - 10:30 a.m. on the first through fourth Tuesday of each month.

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide volunteers will continue free assistance the first and third Wednesdays 9 - 11 a.m. starting May thru October 2022. Assistance is for moderate income seniors needing help with tax returns. An IRS certified counselor will help prepare your 2019, 2020, and/or 2021 return and e-file them free of charge.
