Welcome to 2023 and your new newsletter.


The Senior Center newsletter has taken on a new look in 2023.


You will still find all of the information normally sent via personal email but with a fresh new look and in a clear and readable way, weekly through the year. Postal mailed newsletters will no longer be sent. Copies will be available at the Senior Center and on our transportation buses. You will also be able to find the updated newsletter online at www.westerville.org/seniorcenter.

Holiday Hours

The Westerville Senior Center will be closed on Monday, Jan. 16 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. day.


The Community Center will be open from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. with limited open swim hours of 1 - 4:30 p.m.


Additional information is available on the Parks and Recreation website.

Newspapers Needed

Preparations are underway for Snowflake Castle 2023 and newspapers are needed for use in the paint area.


Donate your used and old newspapers to the Senior Center. Front desk staff will be happy to take them during open hours.

Silver Sneakers & Renew Active

If your medical plan includes Silver Sneakers or Renew Active, you are eligible for a free pass to the Westerville Community Center. Access includes the fitness room, indoor pool, gymnasium and track.


The Community Center also offers free Silver Sneaker classes. Information can be found in the bi-monthly Community Guide. These classes are for those with a Silver Sneakers plan only.

Taxes

The Senior Center will once again host free AARP tax services from Feb. 2 through April 18. Information on how to schedule a session will be available in upcoming newsletters.


Program Open House - Sunday, Jan. 8

Kick off the new year by learning what opportunities Parks and Recreation has available in 2023! A variety of classes in all age ranges are available. Each session will last 30 minutes and include an introduction, demonstration and a question and answer session.

Westerville Parks and Recreation will be holding a public meeting for the Edge Adventure Park in the Community Center's multi-purpose rooms. Consultants will be sharing the site constraints and regional market analysis with the public and taking feedback on what amenities the community would like to see developed in the park.
