Through the Reno Seniors EngAGED Programming, the City of Reno provides a diverse range of free events and activities tailored for seniors in our community. Explore the exciting events listed below!


Poetry Group

Free poetry groups for seniors to exercise their creativity and share poems with each other! Proudly sponsored by the Senior Citizen Advisory Committee (SCAC).


  • February 10, 1pm - 2pm, Evelyn Mount Northeast Community Center*, (1301 Valley Road)

Free Line Dance Classes

Join a free line dance class! Whether you are a beginner or experienced, come and have some fun while learning fun moves, meeting new friends, and staying active.

Senior Citizen Advisory Committee Meeting

Join fellow neighbors and friends at the next Senior Citizen Advisory Committee (SCAC) meeting!


  • February 11, 2pm - 4pm, McKinley Arts and Culture Center, Board Room (925 Riverside Drive)


  • Interested in joining the Senior Citizen Advisory Committee (SCAC)? Attend a meeting to learn more and get involved! It's a great opportunity to learn more about what we do and how you can make a difference. Apply for the Senior Citizen Advisory Committee.


Senior Resource Fair

Come and discover a variety of services tailored for seniors within the community in partnership with the Access to Healthcare! The fair will offer free produce from the Food Bank, free blood pressure checks, vaccines, and more!

Senior Day at the National Automobile Museum

Join us for free admission to the National Automobile Museum. Light lunch will be provided. Limited spots available. Kindly fill out this form to reserve your spot!

Budget Friendly Cooking Class

Are you interested in a budget-friendly cooking classes for seniors? Join us at the Elks Lodge to learn tips, tricks, and delicious recipes without breaking the bank. Classes will take place on the third Wednesday of every month at the Reno Elks Lodge (597 Kumle Lane) until June 2025.

Senior Tech Connect Classes

Are you interested in learning how to use your smartphone? Whether you have a iPhone or Android, the City of Reno is offering free technology classes to teach older adults basic and advance skills on how to use your smartphone.

Senior Dances

Join us at Neil Road Recreation Center (3925 Neil Road), on the first and third Sundays each month at 2p-5pm for senior dances! Enjoy music, fun, and friends in a welcoming atmosphere. Come dance and make memories.


Pioneer Center - Golden Encore

Golden Encore is the new performance outreach program from the Pioneer Center designed specifically for senior citizens, combining exceptional entertainment with lifelong learning opportunities.

AARP Community Events

AARP is here to help you take on today and every day. From sharing practical resources to holding fun virtual activities and events, AARP is providing opportunities to connect and help build an even stronger Nevada.

AARP Driver Safety Course

Refresh your driving skills while staying updated on the latest road rules. Learn practical tips for confidently navigating intersections, mastering left turns, and handling challenging conditions. Discover techniques to enhance your safety and enjoy confident driving. Completing this four-hour course triggers an auto-insurance discount!
