The City of Reno is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Rebuilding Together Northern Nevada (RTNNV), with a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This funding supports the Older Adults Home Modification Program, designed to help seniors age in place safely and independently.
The program benefits applicants who are 62 years old or older, with incomes at or below 80 percent of the area median income (AMI). Awarded applicants will receive modifications for their homes that aim to reduce fall risks, improve safety, and empower seniors to continue living independently.
Examples of home modifications include but not limited to: grab bars, raised toilet seats, carpet removal, door expansions, bathtub conversions, and more.
RTNNV will provide a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist, supervised by a licensed Occupational Therapist, to help older adults identify their goals and develop strategies to safely navigate their homes.
To submit an application for the Older Adults Home Modification Program, visit the application page or call 775-395-9808.
