Dear Dragon Families,

While May might seem very far away, this school year is already passing by quickly. Our bi-monthly senior newsletter will give your family a chance to see upcoming events, due dates, and chances to connect. Our first senior celebration is taking place next week - Senior - Parent/Guardian Mass. All are welcome!

June 1 - 2024 Commencement

This year’s commencement will be held on O’Dowd’s lower field - Saturday, June 1. Each graduate will receive 10 tickets for their family and friends. More information about parking, photography, and graduation regalia will be communicated soon.

October 12, 6:00pm - Senior - Parent/Guardian Mass

Our beloved tradition of Senior-Parent/Guardian Mass is taking place on Thursday, October 12 at 6:00pm in Knauss Gymnasium. This special Mass is a beautiful celebration honoring our seniors' final year at O'Dowd, and for some, their final year at home. Parking will be available on campus. RSVP here by Tuesday, October 10. Light refreshments will be served immediately after Mass. Learn more!

College Counseling Reminders

October 23, CSU Application Workshop - Join the Counseling Department in the Dominican Lounge during lunch to work on your CSU application.
Complete your Senior Questionnaire ASAP so your counselor can schedule your Senior College Meeting.
Sign up for college visits on Naviance
Drop-in college application support during Flex starts AFTER Spirit Week.
Make sure your counselor reviews your UC and CSU applications before submitting them.
Be proactive! Plan to submit your UC and CSU applications well before the November 30 deadline.
Different colleges and programs have varying deadlines. Look at the individual college websites for the deadlines and add them to your calendar!
Keep your eye out for the new FAFSA to be released in December.

October 25, 7:15am - Senior Sunrise

Grab a warm sweater, and a sleeping bag or blanket and head to our Lower Field on Wednesday, October 25 for one of our special traditions: Senior Sunrise!

Parents and Guardians - We need your help! Please volunteer to make breakfast goodies for the seniors to enjoy while watching the sunrise. Sign up now!

Senior Ads Now On Sale!

Celebrate your senior's graduation by purchasing a senior ad in the O'Dowd yearbook! Senior ads are an optional way to commemorate your child's high school experience in the yearbook and they help defray the cost of the publication so that everyone on campus can get a yearbook for free! The deadline to purchase and design a Senior Ad is January 5, 2024. Space is limited, so do not wait!
