Baccalaureate

Baccalaureate is a student-planned and directed program for graduating seniors to reflect, share memories, and give gratitude as they leave LT and journey beyond high school. A variety of readings, song, dance, and personal reflections are presented in this program. This year's program will be in the Reber Center on Friday, May 15th starting at 6:00pm. All graduating seniors, family, and friends are invited to watch. Tickets are not required.

Cap, Gown & Commencement Ticket Pick-Up

Each graduate receives four tickets for the Commencement Ceremony, all of which can be used for an outdoor ceremony. In the event that Commencement has to move inside, only three tickets per graduate can be used. Graduates participating in the ceremony do not require a ticket.

This year, graduates will pick up their tickets, caps, and gowns during their final day of school on Friday, May 22nd. Additional details about this day will be shared soon. Please note that if a student is absent on May 22nd, they can pick up their cap, gown, and tickets at graduation rehearsal.

*Please note that the final attendance day for seniors, Friday, May 22nd, will be at half day. Additional details will be shared in advance of that day.

All seniors attended presentations by Herff Jones about cap and gown orders back in September during their study hall. During that meeting, most students placed their order for their cap and gown. These can still be purchased through Herff Jones by calling (815) 756-4743 or seniors can purchase their cap/gown on Friday, May 22nd for $50 (cash). They will not be taking credit cards or checks on May 22nd; it will be cash only.

Senior Scholarship Night

The Senior Scholarship Night is a recognition of seniors by their school, their peers, and their community. Seniors who have received significant academic, athletic, activity, and scholarship awards will be recognized. The families of award winners will be notified by mail that their student will be honored at the ceremony, but the actual award will not be disclosed until that day. This year, the Senior Scholarship Night will be held the evening of Wednesday, May 20th, at 7:00pm in the Reber Auditorium.

Senior Prom

Prom will take place at The Field Museum again this year on Saturday, May 16th from 8:00 pm to 11:00pm. Formal attire is strongly recommended. One ticket per person is required. All tickets are $185 and are on sale from Sunday, March 22nd (at 7am) through April 13th at LTHS.net/Prom or in the Student Activities Office (within the LLL) during lunch periods. All students attending Prom must ride the school-provided deluxe coach buses to and from The Field Museum. Students must be at South Campus to board buses no later than 5:30 pm; buses will depart at 6:00pm sharp. All school rules apply to Prom, and all school sanctions for violation of those rules may be used, including exclusion from participation in the Commencement exercise. All LT students and their non-LT guests must turn in a Prom Permission Slip to the Main Office before purchasing tickets (both available online at LTHS.net/Prom). Extra permission forms are available online at LTHS.net/Prom and in the Main Office and NC Bookstore.

Please Respect Our Neighbors

Prom and Graduation are always a fun time to gather and take pictures with friends. Please be mindful of the community and our neighbors when choosing places to gather.

Post-Prom Celebration

Each year our Parent-Teacher Council sponsors a Post-Prom cruise on Lake Michigan to ensure a safe celebration for our graduates. Students enjoy three levels of dancing, full food buffets, and an open-air deck for viewing the city lights. Students choosing to attend the Post-Prom will return to LTHS on luxury coach buses at approximately 3:30am. Formal attire is appropriate. Shoes must be worn at all times on The Odyssey and Spirit of Chicago. Since this event is not school-funded, the Post-Prom Committee encourages parental support. Without LTHS parental support, the event would not be possible. Tickets for this event are $60 and are available for purchase along with your Prom ticket. When signing up for the post-prom boat cruise, you will be asked to choose options #1 or #2. To ensure that you are on the same boat with your friends, have your friend group select the same option. The boat will be assigned later.

Commencement Rehearsal (Mandatory)

All graduates who wish to participate in the ceremony are required to attend this rehearsal.

Please note that in the event of inclement weather, LTHS may determine it necessary to move Commencement into the North Campus Field House.

Graduating seniors MUST report 1 hour before the ceremony to the South Campus Fieldhouse.

Seniors who arrive late may not be permitted to participate in the ceremony.

The Bennett Field gates will open for guests one hour prior to the ceremony. Handicapped seating will be available on the field. A live video feed will be provided by LTTV via www.LTHS.net.

Commemorative Outdoor Senior Banners

Honor your 2026 graduate with a Senior Banner! LT Boosters helps celebrate seniors with customizable, congratulatory banners that can be proudly displayed outside in a number of ways. All funds raised through Senior Banners are reinvested to support educational, social, athletic and performing arts activities at LTHS. Click here to order.

College Scholarships & other Honors/Awards

The College and Career Center will be collecting scholarship and grant data from the Class of 2026. Please note: this information is housed securely and internally within the LTHS College & Career Center office and individual award amounts will not be shared. The only numbers reported will be total awards offered to the Class of 2026 and total awards used by the Class of 2026. Students will complete this Scholarship Survey during their Group Guidance session from April 27th - 30th with their Counselor. In order to be listed in the Commencement program and included in the Senior Honors Recognition program, survey responses must be submitted to the College & Career Center by 3:00 p.m., Monday, May 4th. We will only accept survey data, not individual emails with amounts.

College Plans

The College and Career Center will be collecting data on Post-Secondary destinations for the Class of 2026. This will be reported based on a Senior Survey that will be given during the Senior Group Guidance session with your counselor on April 27th and 30th. Please make sure to indicate all application results (accepted, waitlisted, denied) as well as specifically noting the name of the one college that you will be attending. This data is invaluable to us and helps us to advise and predict admissions results for future Lions at LTHS. Your college admission is finalized when the college you attend receives a final transcript (which will be sent in June). You must list the college in Schoolinks as “Enrolling" in order for a final transcript to be sent to that destination. Please also make sure the application method in Schoolinks (Common App or College specific app) is correct. Please be sure to cancel applications to colleges that you do not plan to attend by sending an email to Admissions.

Alumni Association

In just a few months, you will be an official alumnus of LT. As such, the Alumni Association has a few things to offer.

1.  Stay connected: The Association is requesting your personal cell phone and email address to keep on file and to communicate with you. When it comes time for your class reunion, we may share your contact information with your class reunion organizers so that you can reunite with your classmates. Please register here

2.  JOIN the Alumni Association! Members receive a subscription to the Alumni News newsletter, free admission to Homecoming and Pack the Place, and the chance to stay connected to LTHS and your classmates.
