Word of the Week: Humility

EQ: What is humility?

Monday - Administrators' Meeting at 12:30 p.m., Board of Ed Special Called Meeting at 6:00 p.m.
When I was in first grade I had a humbling experience when I made a 3 instead of a 4 on my paper. I was used to getting a 4. My teacher said, “You’ve got to mess up sometimes so I can teach you.” When I went home I was determined not to worry so much about being perfect, because I can’t be perfect, I can only do my best. I learned a great lesson on pride that day, and I’ll never forget it. Anna Ballard, DMS

Tuesday - FAFSA Help Night from 3-6p at DCHS, DES PTO Meeting 3rd and 5th grade performing.
No one wants to be a friend with someone who’s arrogant. Arianna Clayton, DMS

To be humble is to have the ability to stay quiet about getting a new Xbox for Christmas when you know that someone else didn’t get anything. Arianna Clayton, DMS

Put yourself in someone else’s shoes. You may see there is a reason they do what they do. Think of others and try to help them. Alannah Gray, DMS
