Medicare Patient Driven Groupings Model for Home Health
Senior Options worked in conjunction with the partner network to prepare for CMS' new case-mix classification model, the Patient-Driven Groupings Model (PDGM), which was effective January 1, 2020. Senior Options and the partner network reviewed the entire process for each home health episode - Referral, Intake, Start of Care, Period Management and Claims Preparation, in order to ensure that the clinical and financial teams were in synch when providing care and submitting claims.

Medicare regulations have not changed under PDGM and agencies have a deeper focus on processing all claims timely, including home health orders, within a 30 day time period.
Also, weekly billing reflects episodes that are processed completely. Senior Options has worked with the partner network in order to ensure that the 2-part home health claim is submitted timely and cash flow remains steady.
