Dear Class of 2025,
As we prepare for the start of the new year, we have some exciting news for you! From Sunday, August 18 through Tuesday, August 20, Camp Carl has graciously agreed to host the CVCA Senior Class for your very own FREE back-to-school retreat. It will be a great time to start off the year with all of your classmates.
You are invited to meet us at Camp Carl for a fun-filled retreat. In addition to all the activities the camp provides, you will also have the first opportunity to welcome our 9th graders to the CVCA House System. Our freshman class will join us on Monday, August 19, to learn about their new House group. We are very excited about this year and believe that Houses add so much to our school. As Seniors, you will be some of the first people to hear all about the 2024-2025 House details and even participate in the first competition to earn points for the coveted Royal Cup. So, you do not want to miss this retreat!
We know many of you are in a fall sport or club and may have practice, so the schedule we have planned will see you back at CVCA before practices each day. After practice ends on Monday though, head back to camp as we prepare for Tuesday.
RETREAT SCHEDULE
- Sunday, August 18 – Arrive at Camp Carl (8054 Calvin Road, Ravenna, OH 44266) by 5:30 p.m.
- Monday, August 19 – Help kick off FroshFest! If you have practices, you’ll leave at 2:00 p.m., but return to Camp Carl following those commitments.

Tuesday, August 20 – Depart when activities wrap up at 2:00 p.m.

THE PARTICULARS
Our desire is that this retreat would be Christ-honoring and encouraging for all who participate. To ensure the safety and well-being of all involved, you should:
- Get to and from camp on your own, either by driving or having someone drop you off and pick you up.
- Adhere to the standards set forth in the CVCA Student/Parent Handbook at all times.
- Dress appropriately for camp, with a focus on neatness, unity, and modesty.
- As guests of Camp Carl, display courteous and polite behavior at all times.
- Demonstrate respect for the property and staff of Camp Carl

Your parent will register you for the retreat and review the guidelines with you.
