Adventures in History
Understanding history is an important tool for progressing as a society. James Baldwin said it best, "People are trapped in history and history is trapped in them". This helps us understand that we're shaped by history and that history also guides our actions. Knowing that, we can empower ourselves by learning about history, which will grant us an idea of how things have become the way that they are currently. Below are a few free webinars that you can use to understand our past, present, and maybe even some of the future.
Local Historian Jim Segrave-Daly will be discussing a pivotal time in American history and how Washington helped save the American cause in the revolution.
Pre-registration is required. Tune in live on December 16th, 2020 from 7pm - 8pm.
Teaching American History takes a look inside many pivotal documents in our history. This year has focused on various James Madison documents and Abraham Lincoln documents as well.
The Saturday Webinar series by Teaching American History brings clarity to some of the biggest topics in American History with features this year on Slavery, the Constitution and the American Revolution.
C-Span branches out on history and explores parts of American history typically not covered in the classroom. With topics examining suburbs and the relationship between two high profile people, they teach us about things other hasn't been broached by others.
