Volunteering Benefits You!
There are abundant ways to spend your free time, but one of the most impactful is through volunteering. Not only does volunteering your time help out others, it also helps you, as there are benefits to volunteering! If you find the right place to volunteer, you could build friendships, connect with your community, and even learn new skills!

See below for volunteering opportunities, benefits of volunteering and how to choose the right volunteering opportunity!
Benefits of Volunteering!
We are all aware of the benefits you can bring to an organization while volunteering, but volunteering can also benefit you!

Volunteering not only brings you joy from helping others, but can also make you happier and healthier in other ways, such as through developing connections with others and brining fun and fulfillment to your life. Volunteering has been shown to also increase your self-esteem, and increases your brain functioning, which will help you in your day to day life! If you're still in the job market, volunteering can also help you advance in your career if that's still desirable.
Volunteering Opportunities
There are many ways to volunteer and a lot of times, it's just finding the right situation for you! There's always availability at our very own greenhouse for volunteers if you're into gardening and nature! If you are interested in volunteering in our greenhouse, please contact us at parkandrec@whitemarshtwp.org.

Other volunteering opportunities are also all over our area, with opportunities with the Philabundance or other food banks, local animal groups, and other community groups! See below for opportunities through VolunteerMatch or find one locally today!

The second link "Choosing How to Volunteer" is to look further into the various types of volunteer programs and how to choose the correct one for you. Learn more about the types of programs, short-term/long-term, conservation, recruitment, and relief programs and how they can work for you.
