Learn Something New!
A new year has started and that means it's another chance to put your best foot forward! There are a large number of ways to put your best foot forward and one of them is by learning a new language. Not only will this make you a more well-rounded person in terms of being more worldly, but it'll also prepare you for the next time you take an international trip!
Learning a new language doesn't require going to night classes anymore! There are tons of free college courses out there if you look hard enough, Thankfully this is also the case with language classes! Learn from professors at Seton Hall, MIT, and the University of South Wales or some of the astounding phone/website apps that we are lucky enough to be able to access today. Check out the various options below and click on the links in the titles to go straight to the source! If the material is on ITunes, you can find a direct link to download ITunes at the bottom of this email.
Trying to have some fun while also learning a new language? These lectures not only give an introduction to Italian, but also to the Italian and Mediterranean cuisines! Learn Italian and new recipes!
These ITunes recordings will allow you to learn conversational German, while practicing pronunciation and delivery. These are best if you've had some experience with German already.
This introductory course on ITunes is a fantastic way to learn the language for the first time, as it's a self paced course.
If you're truly looking to expand your language acumen, this ITunes course will have you impressing anyone you know!
Beyond free college courses, we are blessed with some websites/phone apps that can help us learn new languages. Click on the links below to go directly to their website, or you can download the apps on your smart phone.

  • Babbel - Similar to an online course in that you learn items that will come up in daily conversation. Mentioned as an immersive experience and will certainly help you learn what you'd likely say if you're on a trip to a foreign country!

  • Duolingo - A fantastic option if you're interested in multiple languages. Duolingo includes courses for a large amount of languages and also recognizes learning decay, so they require refreshers from time to time. Turns learning a new language into a sort of game.

  • Rosetta Stone - The original language learning tool, Rosetta Stone is aptly named for what it achieves! Rosetta Stone lessons take a while to complete, but are tried and true. With a number of different subscription offers, there's a plan for all auditory learners.

If you're interested in learning about other language learning apps or learning more about the ones mentioned above. Click on the button below and see what an independent reviewer from CNET has to say!
