Dear Senita Valley and Rincon Vista Families,

At about 7:40 this morning there were reports of a bobcat on Senita Valley’s campus. Shelter-in-place was called for both campuses and students were sent into classrooms. A call was then made to the Tucson Police Department to have law enforcement secure the area.

Safety is our number one priority. Because our schools are located next to a desert, this will happen from time to time. As such, we simply want to take necessary precautions when it does.

As of now, we will remain in a shelter in place until otherwise notified. This means that class will resume as usual, but students will remain indoors. If a student needs to leave the classroom, they will be closely monitored by staff members.

For families who were affected by the timing this morning, thank you for your patience.

Sincerely,

Katie Griffin
