COVID-19- Protocols & Procedures
Masks: West staff & students are doing a fantastic job wearing their masks. Although face coverings are required in grades K-4 when indoors, preschool students must also wear a mask on the bus and when in common areas. Please provide a mask for your preschooler. Any student who arrives without a mask will be provided with one. Please remember to wash cloth masks regularly.
Assessing Your Child's Health: It is extremely important for you to assess your child's health every morning before they come to school. If your child does not feel well, complains of a sore throat and/or has a fever, we ask that you err on the side of caution and keep your child at home. With the delta variant being an issue with children this school year, it is extremely important that we keep sick children at home. Students who are absent from school may still log onto google classroom from home to complete the day's assignments. All students, grades 1-4 have a google email and password and should be able to login from home.
Handwashing: Is the key to staying healthy! We are encouraging and promoting hand washing practices all throughout the day at school. Please remind your child to do the same at home. Warm water and plenty of soapy suds!
Vaccinations: SCS is encouraging all staff, parents and students over the age of 12 to get vaccinated. Our students here at West are all under the age of 12 and do not have an opportunity to be vaccinated. Please do your part for those around you and make arrangements to get the shot!
Keeping our students healthy and safe will continue to be our top priority at West. We were pleased with the way we handled the pandemic last school year. With your help we feel confident that we are fully prepared to keep our students healthy, safe and in school.
