What's Happening this week: SI 100-Year Celebration Oct. 1st thru Oct. 3rd
Message from President Sara Beacham
Greetings!

Happy Fall 🍁!

I am loving this nice cool weather. How about you?

There is no lunch meeting this week, but a few committees are meeting. There is an unveiling of the stained glass at Pine Ridge School in Magalia on Wednesday at 12:00 noon. Hope you can come.

Also happening this week is the Girl Scouts of Northern California Pavilion Project Groundbreaking. Join us Saturday, October 2nd at 5:00 pm. This is the moment we have been waiting for, and all Soroptimist International of Chico members
are invited. The groundbreaking will happen at their new location on Floral Avenue. The CEO will give some remarks, a few troops will be there, and the Chico State Women In Construction will be on hand, too. We will have a photo opportunity and get to meet the young women whose lives will be changed thanks to Soroptimists and Girl Scouts. Hope to see you there!

This week the Soroptimist International 100-Year Celebrations are happening. Did you attend the SIA 100-year celebration this past weekend? Will you join Soroptimist International this coming weekend? How about a quick drive downtown? Have you seen our banner? SI Chico partnered with SI Bidwell Rancho to get a banner hung downtown at 1st and Main Streets. Drive by and take a look. It will be up for three more weeks. And there’s more! Our billboards
will be going up soon, too. If you see one, stop and take a pic with it and send it to our communications committee or to me. #Soroptimist100 #Soroptimistsatwork

See everyone next week for our business meeting!

We have been using Survey Monkey in the past for all of our surveys for free. This was working fine for many years. As of January 2021 they have changed their policy on free accounts and limit the responses to only 40 responders unless you have a paid account which would run about $50 per month.

I am happy to announce that starting this week we will be using Google forms. They are part of our Google Suite, which is totally FREE to nonprofits. The responses are unlimiited. On Thursday, September 30th you will be receiving an email from Kathy Erickson, our lunch lady, from her new email address, kathyerickson@sichico.com. You will be asked to fill out the form with your name, if you will be having lunch, attending facility only, or will NOT be attending. There will also be a notes section where you can state your reason for not attending or if you will be joining us on Zoom.

Kathy is trying to retire as our lunch lady, so if you are interested in becoming our new lunch lady, please let Kathy know. She will train you.

If you have any questions regarding this change you can contact me, Joyce Brown, at joycebrown@sichico.com
