Restart of Club Balance Meditation Sessions


Join Club Balance in Room 212 of the Campus Center at 1 p.m. every Wednesday for a half hour meditation session. The first session is scheduled for Sept. 18.

Teaching Across the Pacific


Kauai CC Financial Aid Director Jeff Anderson, in his role as Past-President for PacFAA (Pacific Financial Aid Association) recently returned from the Pacific Island region where he was conducting a training for the various Financial Aid offices. Training was conducted on Guam at the Univ. of Guam campus, as well as on Palau for Palau Community College, College of Micronesia - FSM, and the College of the Marshall Islands. This was the first time PacFAA had provided in person support for our under-represented colleagues in the Pacific Island region.

Monthly Safety Awareness Workshops


Monthly Safety Awareness Workshops by Miles Nirei -- Information, instruction and training for asbestos awareness is intended to give workers and supervisors the information they need to avoid work that may disturb asbestos during any normal work which could disturb the fabric of a building, or other item which might contain asbestos. The course will include an asbestos survey conducted for each campus and is available for each supervisor to review prior to assignment of task. Please email Sheri Amimoto (samimoto@hawaii.edu) if you would like to attend. The next workshop via zoom will occur on 9/18/24 starting at 9 a.m.

Taropy Tuesday

Join us at the campus loʻi every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month from 3:30pm - 4:30pm for Taropy Tuesday! Get your hands dirty or simply come to talk story. This is safe space for all faculty, staff and students to come together and mālama 'āina.

Fishponds of Hawai'i: An Art Exhibit by Carol Araki Wyban

Thursday, Sept. 19, at 4 p.m.


Join us as artist Carol Wyban presents her art work that is being permanently housed in the Kikuchi Center. Her art features Native Hawaiian fishpond and mythological themes, and was inspired by Dr. Kikuchi's research. Pupus and refreshments will be available in the library, LRC 102 starting at 4 p.m.

Welcome Chef George Levendis


Originally from New York, Chef George found his passion of cooking at a very young age. He attended culinary school at the New York Institute of Technology and immediately began working as first a Sous Chef, and quickly an Executive Chef at various New York restaurants before relocating to Kaua'i in 2011. If you've ever sat down to any of his eateries - Chef George of Da Jungle, The Greek Gyro Stand, or Zorbas, then you've already enjoyed some of his culinary expertise. Chef George said he is elated to share his gift and passion in making delicious and nutritious food with the Kaua'i community.
