  • Drive private investment in better buildings that support our health with updated incentives for commercial and residential buildings.

  • Invest in schools, housing and public buildings to create healthy, safe, resilient, efficient and green places to live, work, and learn.

  • Ensure that all communities benefit from federal funding for construction and renovation that prioritizes health, and include training and apprenticeship programs to create opportunities for disadvantages individuals.

Healthy People in Healthy Places = A Healthy Economy!

USGBC-Missouri Gateway’s Higher Education – Emerging Professionals Committee seeks to help students and young professionals connect with green jobs through the Green Shadow program, which is an informal interview, half day shadow or one day shadow of local green building and sustainability professionals. We recognize that this school year presents many challenges and uncertainties for students, parents, and teachers. With that in mind, USGBC-Missouri Gateway invites schools to “Continue the Quest!” for a more sustainable community by taking part in a reimagined six-month challenge. Instead of one year-long project, the Quest format is shifting to six, theme-based monthly sustainability challenges. Schools can participate in as many or as few of the challenges as desired. And while formal judging will not take place with “Continue the Quest!”, all participating schools that share submission materials will be entered into drawings for cash prizes!

Learn more at www.GreenSchoolsQuest.org. And stay tuned for details on an upcoming webinar for interested and participating schools (mentors too!) on the format and themes for this year's Quest.
