Pamela Ling, MD, MPH received the 2021 Harold S. Luft Mentoring Award from the Philip R. Lee Institute for Health Policy Studies at UCSF.

Paola Betancur, PhD, Melissa Coleman, MD, and Samuel Washington, MD were each named 2021 John A. Watson Faculty Scholars and recipients of the UCSF School of Medicine Dean’s Diversity Fund award.

Community Engagement

On August 7, Umoja Health, in partnership with community and faith-based organizations, celebrated its 1-year anniversary of providing free access to COVID-19 testing and vaccinations to Oakland’s most impacted neighborhoods serving the Black community. At the celebration, Mayor Libby Schaaf proclaimed August 7th as Umoja Health Day in the City of Oakland.
