See How our Programs are Still Serving During COVID
Youth and Elders Program Feature

Jake Sheykhet, a high school student, conducts painting classes for the elders at Jewell Estates of the Garden Homes. In the midst of such isolation, what a joyful intergenerational time this provides. Bessie's Hope Program Director, Claire Hatton (right) hosts the Zoom classes.

Ride-by elder care event!
Metro Denver and surrounding areas: Bikers and car participants register and select which of the 19 participating Bessie’s Hope elder care partners from our list on the registration page you are committing to ride by.

Weather permitting, the elders will be seated outside, eager to wave and exchange greetings from a distance. Bikers and car participants must photo the QR code for each elder care location. The code will be posted either in the yard or on the front door. These must be photographed, because that is your signature that you visited that location.

On September 30th, we will let the elder care homes know how many ride-by participants and which time frames they will have.
Ride-by times are 9:30-11:30 A.M. and 1:00-3:00 P.M. In between the ride-by times, bikers and car participants can go to Wheelz to pick up their event memorabilia.

Canyon City area: Same rules apply as above, but there are only 8 elder care locations and one time frame, 9:30-11:30 A.M. After visiting all 8 locations, participants will go to the address on the registration page to pick up the memorabilia.

2020 BRIDGE OF LOVE GALA WAS A
VIRTUAL SUCCESS

Thank you all for joining us via your computers and televisions. It was exciting to have gala attendees from all over the country! Thank you to those of you who hosted "watch parties". We have photos from a few of those on the event web page. If others of you would like to share photos of your gatherings, please email them to me, linda@bessieshope.org.

Representative of our 2020 technological gala is the photo to the left. Pictured on the TV screen at Zane's Italian Bistro are Michelle Rahn, former Ms Senior America, presenting to Ed Novak the posthumous Community Angel Award in honor of Gayle Novak, Ms. Senior America last year. Also presented there was the 2020 Community Angel award to Rosalina Diecidue, who has COVID and was quarantined at home. Thank you to Jeremy Golden of Graham Golden Technologies for volunteering your IT services for these presentations.

Thank you to all our sponsors, our wonderful committee, our auction chairperson, Nancy Rawls, our auctioneer/emcee, Eric Goodman, our production/auction company, Bolder Events, and my co-founder, Sharron Brandrup for all the videos and producing expertise.

Bessie's Hope your charity of choice!

P.E.O. Chapter EH partnered with Bessie’s Hope and had an incredibly special outside visit with elders at TenderCare of University Hills. Chapter members painted brightly colored yard signs with uplifting messages to create an "Inspiration Garden". There was a sing-along to songs that matched the signs!

Community and Elders Program was designed for adult or family groups from corporations, clubs, churches, etc. Education and training are provided, as with the youth groups. Click to get involved.
