September is full of celebrations
The second Sunday in September kicks off National Arts Education Week, celebrating the transformative powers of creative skills. The week recognizes the impact of arts education and how it equips young people to succeed in all areas of life. Students in schools that offer arts-integrated learning are more likely to show better academic outcomes, transfer knowledge from arts to non-arts domains, and demonstrate greater motivation and engagement in learning.
September also celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month, Sept 15-25, a time to appreciate and celebrate the colorful cultures, rich histories, and diversity of the American Latino community.
National Dance Day is the third Saturday, and celebrate the power of reading all month long as September the designated National Literacy Month-- Local Libraries, Big Stories. Check out your local library to catch a great program or event, and a good book! Learn more about the Kids Creative Writing Club at the Loomis Library.
