Springtails are minute wingless insects that occur in large numbers in moist soil and are found in homes with very high humidity, organic debris, or mold.  

Homeowners sometimes discover these insects in large numbers in swimming pools, potted plants, or in moist soil and mulch.  Springtails feed on decaying, damp vegetation causing organic material and other nutrients to return to the soil which are later used by plants....

Marilyn Huff lovers her secluded, private, fenced-in acreage on the eastern edge of Golden Gate Estates. It's a sanctuary she shares with birds, wildlife (they've seen bears and panthers) and her two Rottweiler dogs.  But she doesn't want uninvited critters like cockroaches, fleas, ticks, bees and termites.

Roof Rats and Mice - What are they?
The Roof Rat is an introduced species of rat native to southern Asia. It was brought to America on the first ships to reach the New World and has spread around the world. This rat is the same species that carried the bubonic plague around the world and is also the reservoir host for murine typhus. 

Roof Rats are the worst rodent pest in the State of Florida and most abundant. A typical roof rat is between 13 and 18 inches long from nose to tail.

The Florida House Mouse weighs less than an ounce. It can fit in a crack of only a quarter inch. They can and do get everywhere. If your house has food and any small openings, eventually mice will find their way in. A single mouse can't eat a whole lot, but they nibble on many foods and defecate on everything, mice destroy considerably more food than they consume. They can also spread diseases.  .....

Crazy Ants Come By Thousands - You need to know
Ants can be a nuisance here in Southwest Florida and one of the most persistent pest problems is the Crazy Ant. 

This is a small brown to black ant about 1/10th inch long with a tremendous amount of energy. The Crazy Ant got named from the habit of running about very erratically with no apparent sense of direction. 

They are sometimes recognized by their extremely long legs and antennae out of proportion to the other parts of their body. This unusual feature is a good identifying characteristic. . .... .

I am a 5th generation Florida native born and raised here in Naples, graduated from Lely High School where I played football, basketball, and ran track.

My Great Grandfather came here, to what we know as to Collier County, in 1862. I am married with 4 children.
