There is no question that a limited liability company (“LLC”) is often the preferred business structure among individuals who are seeking business ownership in Florida. Some of the reasons for that preferential treatment is due to do the flexibility of the LLC structure which provides the elasticity of a partnership with the asset protection of a corporation. Further, under a LLC structure, the members not only benefit from liability protection but the LLC structure allows its members to use the LLC’s “pass-through” taxation status. Federal Courts Temporarily Block President Biden’s Student Loan Forgiveness

President Biden’s plan to aid former college students with high debts includes forgiving up to $10,000 in student loan debt for those whose income is less than $125,000 a year. [1] Additionally, borrowers who obtained federal Pell Grants are entitled to have up to $20,000 of their student loan debt eliminated.[1] This policy is set to expense the federal government with an estimated amount of $400 billion.[1]

This week, a U.S. appeals court temporarily blocked President Biden’s student loan initiative to forgive billions in student loan debt.[1] Conservatives looking to halt President Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan have filed numerous legal cases.[1] With legal cases pending, the longevity of President Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan hangs in the balance.[1]


The Reign of Queen Elizabeth II Ends

Queen Elizabeth II peacefully passed away on September 8, 2022, marking 70 years of monarchical reign.[2] The Queen’s reign fostered a new age of monarchy that was filled with public engagements.[2] The future of the British monarchy is uncertain with the newly reigned King Charles III.[2]
