In support of our community of volunteer leaders during these challenging times, Volunteer Fairfax is offering a series of FREE volunteer management educational opportunities.
Turning Volunteers into Donors
So which comes first-- the volunteers or the donor? Did you know that 42 percent of donors first volunteered before they gave to an organization? An average volunteer is FOUR TIMES as likely to donate as someone who does not volunteer, and they typically give TEN TIMES as much! So, some of your best donor sources may already be invested in your organization by giving you that other gift…time. What is the risk to ask the givers of time for money, too? It depends. We will talk about setting priorities, boundaries and understanding your goals and your organization’s goals. This workshop is for anyone with Volunteer or Development responsibilities.
Volunteer Management Roundtable: Hosting Holiday Season Volunteers…With or Without a Pandemic?
Do you lead, coordinate or manage volunteers for your organization? Join us to exchange ideas and share experiences with other leaders of volunteers. We will talk about planning for holiday volunteering whether or not we are still dealing with the COVID 19 Pandemic. Let’s discuss what you did in 2020, lessons learned, and what your plans could look like for the 2021 Holiday Season. We will also allow time to address other current volunteering issues faced by you and your organization, too.
Thanking volunteers has traditionally centered on special, large-scale formal events. In 2021, not so much! Gatherings of any kind have most certainly changed. And if your volunteer recognition budget has been adjusted (a/k/a slashed), join us to hear how your volunteer program can still afford to show gratitude with your innovativeness guiding the way. Help keep your sense of community, camaraderie, and appreciation for the people who donate their time and talent.
