Portugal no Coração

This year there will be another edition of "Portugal no Coração", a program through which the INATEL Foundation, offers Portuguese citizens who are more than 65, resident from outside Europe and who haven't visited Portugal in more than 25 years, the opportunity to rediscover their land.
INATEL has offered this program since 1995 to help senior migrants who do not have the financial means to pay for their own travel and accommodation costs in Portugal, a unique opportunity to revisit their country of origin and their families, without any cost to them.

The program consists of a round trip to Portugal, with a set of tourist and cultural activities for a period of approximately
10 days. After the said duration, the participants may extend their stay in Portugal with relatives and / or friends who welcome them and to bear any eventual charges.

The selection criteria of candidates are as follows:
  • Older age;
  • Economic situation of greater deficiency;
  • Longer period without coming to Portugal.
The costs of the Program are borne in similar parts by the General Directorate of Consular Affairs and Portuguese Communities, TAP Portugal and INATEL Foundation.
