Getting back in the Groove

Ah, September... leaves start to change and people get back into their routines. One of those routines can be regular walking. It's a perfect time, therefore, to start or restart your walking group.

Please let us know when you are starting back up and we will update the webpage and promote the walks. If you are considering starting a group or want to co-lead, please reach out to Catherine. If you have places you want to promote your walk, we can make up a poster you can use or we can send a notice to your local paper for the community events section.

Opportunities to help Hike NS/NS Walks at Fairs/Expos this Fall

We are getting requests to participate in Fairs and Expos around the province. These can be a great way to promote the program by connecting with community members. We are reaching out to see if you might be interested in attending one of the upcoming events and representing Hike NS at a booth. Here are some details.

WANT YOUR GROUP'S ACTION SHOT IN OUR LEADER UPDATE?

SEND IT TO US!

-Use landscape (wide) angle on your phone or camera

-Go for "action" shots where people are moving instead of posing in a group shot

-Cloudy or overcast days give good light for outdoor photos, as do early mornings and evenings

Provincial and Regional Leader Gatherings

This Fall, in addition to a province wide virtual Leader gathering, we will start to have regional gatherings. We hope these are useful to you as walk leaders and can help provide more support to you and your walk groups. Stay tuned for exact dates. Our next virtual provincial gathering will be held on Monday, October 3rd, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Please register to attend HERE

Walk Leader Training

Our next Walk leader training session will be held Monday September 12. Please encourage your participants to become co-leaders by taking this training. You can get a copy of this graphic on the walk leader resource page.
