SBA Offers Disaster Assistance to Colorado Small Businesses Economically Impacted by the Grizzly Creek Fire

The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering low-interest federal disaster loans for working capital to small businesses economically impacted by the Grizzly Creek Fire that began Aug. 10, 2020, SBA Administrator Jovita Carranza announced today. SBA acted under its own authority to declare a disaster following a request received from Gov. Jared Polis on Sept. 8, 2020.

The disaster declaration makes SBA assistance available in Eagle, Garfield, Mesa, Pitkin, Rio Blanco, and Routt counties in Colorado; and Grand and Uintah counties in Utah.

Warming Equipment Available for Glenwood Springs Businesses to Assist with Social Distancing Requirements

Glenwood Springs businesses are invited to apply for equipment from the City to assist with social distancing needs through the winter months. The City of Glenwood Springs received a generous grant from the Colorado Department of Transportation to purchase heating units, wind screens, and other equipment needed to accommodate social distancing in outdoor spaces during cold weather. If you are interested in city equipment, please fill out this brief interest form with your contact information and exact equipment desired.

If your business is in need of such equipment or plans to put up your own enclosure, please remember that any enclosure needs proper inspections and applicable permits. In some cases, the Fire or Building Department may require inspection of your exhaust hood to ensure proper cleaning and ventilation.

Energize CO Gap Fund Application: Round 2 Opens Oct. 5th.


Small businesses with fewer than 25 full-time employees can apply for support through a mixture of grants and loans, up to a maximum of $15,000 in grants and $20,000 in loans for a possible combined total of $35,000 in financial assistance from the Energize Colorado Gap Fund.

What’s the response been? What comments have you heard from the public or from your employees? Amazing!! Visiting the farm has been a great outing for those who have been cooped up. We have had many moms with kiddos come and enjoy the alpacas and have picnics on the grass.

How can the community best support your business? Please remember us when doing holiday shopping. We have a great selection of hats, scarves, mittens and socks for the winter months. We have beautiful products made from alpaca fiber, which are warm, waterproof and gorgeous!
