Celebrating 30 years as NYS Certified Hospice
September 1991, East End Hospice (EEH) became a New York Stat -certified hospice.

30 years later, we continue to improve lives across Eastern Long Island through expert care, comfort, and compassion for terminally ill patients and their families. Our nurses, aides, social workers, volunteers, and staff care for more than 700 patients; support caregivers, family and friends, during and after the end-of-life journey; and provide grief and bereavement services to more than 250 community members each year.

Applications are being accepted for East End Hospice’s annual volunteer training program beginning in October.
Hospice volunteers visit patients in their homes, hospitals, nursing homes, or at the Kanas Center for Hospice Care.

They provide companionship, run errands, provide transportation or prepare light meals. Volunteers are assigned to patients in their area and surrounding towns.
Volunteers are needed, especially from Shelter Island, East Hampton, Montauk, and the North Fork. Volunteers have all sorts of backgrounds and experiences; medical training is not required.
East End Hospice volunteers are the heart and soul of our care. Volunteers donate thousands of hours of their time each year to improve the lives of patients and families with caring expertise and compassion. They tell us the rewards are unparalleled.

Every volunteer is vital to East End Hospice's mission to provide the right care in the right place at the right time - for every patient, every family, every time.

Please call Susan DiSario, Volunteer Coordinator, at 631.288.8400 or email volunteers@eeh.org to register.

August Events Raise Funds & Awareness for EEH!
Local businesses, friends, and supporters advocated for our cause last month in a series of events; JMcLaughlin hosted Sip Shop at their Southampton store, Westhampton House Friends swam across the Moriches Bay, and the historic Artists and Writers Charity Softball Game hit one out of the park for four noble East End charities, including EEH.

Finally, Saturday August 28, original artworks from over 70 of the East End's finest artists were auctioned at the 20th Annual Box Art Auction. Longtime EEH supporter and art enthusiast Donald Sussis accepted the Spirit of the Community Award for his longstanding commitment to East End Hospice and the local arts community. This lovely event attracted more than 100 guests and high interest from the local press, helping to raise public awareness of our mission.

We are grateful to those who shopped, swam, played ball, spectated, sponsored, bidded, and supported our August Events and a round of applause to those who have organized these beautiful events in support of EEH's good work on the East End.
