We've all had to make adjustments, haven't we? During COVID we have changed how we worship, reach out to the community, and conduct meetings. And, though at times it was a big challenge, there were other times when amazing things came to be in our churches during the pandemic that we could not have imagined. The Growth Ministry Council of the NACCC calls these times Silver Linings.
Now that many of us are back in our churches for worship and ministry, some of us may need financial help to keep these Silver Linings programs up and running.
If you have a project, ministry, or program that emerged during the pandemic that you would like to continue, you can apply for a Silver Linings Grant. To learn more, go to the NACCC website and visit Financial Support for details.
Churches can receive up to $5000 in support of a Silver Lining program. Don’t delay---Applications are due on or before November 15, 2021. Awardees will receive funding shortly thereafter.
Churches - Watch Your Mail
Rev. Arthur P. Ritter, Chair, Board of Directors
The Board of Directors understands that communication with our local churches is most important. We want to keep you informed about events, resources, invitations to service, and opportunities for assistance. We want to provide updates about our National Association and the Congregational Way. An important part of this communication comes in bimonthly e-newsletters and in packets sent to our member churches twice a year.
Later this month, watch for material from the NACCC that will address church financial resources including the Providence Fund, John Richard Fund, The Hurting Churches Fund, and Silver Linings, a new grant opportunity that will speak directly to the needs of this difficult time. You will find other important information in this mailing or in the NACCC e-news that might inspire you or others in your church to help or to serve.
The Congregationalist Endowment Fund
Varn Philbrook, Secretary, Congregational Foundation Board of Governors
Hello to our NACCC membership brethren. I hope your summer has been healthy and fun. The Board of Governors has been busy thinking and reviewing the costs of running the NACCC and how to best communicate the needs to our member churches and congregations.
Fall is generally a time of giving. In keeping with tradition, we ask that you consider contributing a gift in support of The Congregationalistmagazine. The National Association allocates significant funding to assure the production and distribution of the magazine. But the more we can raise from others the less it will impact the NACCC budget.
Today, I encourage all of you avid readers to donate to the magazine's Endowment Fund. By increasing this fund, we can all help lessen the pressure on the NACCC’s operational budget – a simple fix! Thank you in advance.
