Register for Annual Meeting This Week for the Best Rate


The IVMA Annual Meeting is quickly approaching and the Early Bird Registration Deadline is this Thursday, September 12. Save money by registering by this date at www.iowavma.org or call the IVMA office at 515-965-9237.


Annual Meeting takes place in Ames on Thursday, September 26 and Friday, September 27. Join us to see the Work in Progress happening at the Scheman Building as it undergoes a refurbishment during the IVMA Annual Meeting.

New Location for Registration Desk!


Because of the construction at the Scheman Building, the Registration Desk and Vendors will be located on the 2nd floor of the building. Look for signs directing you when you arrive.


Find Your Next Associate at the Networking/Job Fair

The IVMA and Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine are teaming up again in 2024 to offer a Networking/Job Fair as part of the IVMA Annual Meeting.


The IVMA/ISU CVM Networking/Job Fair will be held on Thursday, September 26, 5:00-7:00 pm, at ISU College of Veterinary Medicine in Ames. The fair will offer IVMA veterinarians the chance to meet current ISU CVM students in a relaxed, casual atmosphere. All classes of veterinary students are invited to attend, allowing students to network and build relationships with IVMA veterinarians and practice their interviewing skills.

 IVMA Tailgate at ISU vs UCF


Join the IVMA on Saturday, October 19 for a tailgate before the Iowa State Cyclones take on the University of Central Florida Knights, one of the new additions to the Big 12 Conference.  Plan on joining other IVMA Cyclone fans for pregame food and beverages. All IVMA members, their guests and ISU veterinary students are invited!

Time: TBD (3 hours before kickoff)

New Location: We will be holding the tailgate in a White Auxiliary Tent located on the southeast side of Jack Trice Stadium near the corner of University and South 16th Street. Look for the IVMA sign on the tent.

 IVMA Foundation Raffle & Silent Auction


The IVMA Foundation is holding a Raffle & Silent Auction to raise funds for ISU CVM Scholarhips. Raffle tickets are on sale now and at the IVMA Annual Meeting.

The more tickets that are sold, the higher the payout to one lucky winner. The winner will receive 50% of the funds raised from the raffle and the remaining 50% will be retained by the Foundation. 


If you can't make the IVMA Annual Meeting and would like to purchase a ticket(s), feel free to call the IVMA office at 515-965-9237. The drawing will be held at lunch on Friday, September 27. You don't need to be present to win.

Survey Veterinary Stress & Mental Health

Students at the University of Illinoise Urbana-Champaign are conducting a research study on veterinary stress and mental health. They would like to interview veterinarians, technicians and assistants for their study. The interview will be conducted via Zoom and will take about an hour. You will be compensated with a $75 Amazon gift card.

Survey on Perceptions of Zoonotic Disease Risk

Members of the IVMA are invited to participate in an online survey-based research study on perceptions of zoonotic disease risks and infection control and prevention practices among equine and food animal (livestock) practitioners in the United States. The Principal Investigator is Dr. Brandy Burgess, Associate Professor of Epidemiology and Infection Control at the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Georgia.


The survey will take approximately 30 minutes to complete and your responses will remain confidential, and only summary statements will be reported in future publications, presentations, or research.
