Interested in learning more about TECHNOLOGY?
Join the SRS TECH CLUB!
We will begin Tech Club in October, following Columbus Day weekend.
There will be an informational meeting on 9/17 for any student interested in grades 4-8 to learn what Tech club is all about.
Interested in joining the Coding Club?
Coding is the new literacy. Currently there are a low percentage of students graduating with Computer Science degrees and there is a demand for these skills in the workplace. Studies are telling us that introducing coding at an early age can facilitate early interest. In addition, it can exercise multiple areas of the brain related to language processing, working memory, and attention. Students are enabled to develop sense of creativity, self expression, and critical thinking skills.

St. Rita Annual Walk-A-Thon

The Home and School Association (HSA) welcomes all of our students and families to the 2018-19 school year! The HSA is kicking off our school-wide events with our Annual Walk-A-Thon  on Sunday, September 30, 2018 . The walk will start  between 12:45 and 1 PM  from the SRS parking lot. Please save the date and join the school community as we celebrate “Bring on the Joy of Walking.” All Walk-A-Thon materials can be found on the  SRS website .

Volunteers are needed to help make the Walk-A-Thon a success (i.e., crossing guards, food service, bounce house, etc.). If interested in volunteering, please click  here  to sign up. There are several options available. All volunteers must be VIRTUS trained.
Clothing Drive at the 2018 Walk-A-Thon

We will hold our 5th annual clothing drive sponsored by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Connecticut Foundation during the Walk-A-Thon this year. Please help us help others and raise money for our school at the same time! Please click on the link below for more information and start filling bags to donate while you are cleaning out closets getting ready for the new school year! Thank you!

New this year!! Room Parent Procedure:
This year teachers will be responsible for picking their own room parents, instead of the HSA assigning them. A room parent's role is to work closely with the classroom teacher and help with their needs, which makes it important that the teacher and room parent have a good working relationship. Each class is different and has different needs so it is best for the teacher to assign the role of room parent based on their individual needs.
*Reminder all school Volunteers need to be Virtus Trained*
