Reflections for Sunday , September 15
"God loves the whole world, no exceptions!" For many years I had that phrase as a bumper sticker on my car. I would often get a honk and a thumbs up, or even when stuck in traffic, people would roll down their window to tell me how much they liked my sticker. It is a truth that we take for granted. But Jesus doesn't. He tells two parables in Luke 15:1-10 about how God's love puts everything else on hold just for us. A shepherd leaves the rest of the sheep to go after the one who is lost. A woman sets aside all her other daily tasks to search high and low for one lost coin. That love is overwhelming and unconditional.

+ When have you felt overwhelming, unconditional love in your life?
+ What would it be like for you to tell others about that love?

Family Devotion  Read:  Luke 15:1-10

Bring it homeHere are some questions or activities to help you think and talk about the reading as a family.

+ Play hide and seek, but instead of everyone hiding, have just one person hide and everyone else look for them. When you find them, celebrate!!
+These two stories are all about how much Jesus loves each and every one of us. How do you know when someone loves you? How do you show love to other people?
+ Jesus ate meals with anyone who would eat with him. That was not the custom of the time. But eating together means that we are equals and we care about each other. Who do you eat with? At home? At school or day care? Is there someone you would like to eat with sometime?

Pray:  Consider lighting a candle or having a cross to look at while you pray. Have someone pray this prayer:

Say a prayer for someone you haven't seen in a long time. Ask God to help them be happy and healthy.
