Rev. Dr. Victoria Weinstein, Parish Minister

Human beings have gazed into the skies with awe since the beginning of our species. Fifty years ago, man stood on the moon. Today we celebrate the astonishing accomplishment of the moon landing and consider what it says to us today.

Sabbatical Chat and Worship Workshop
Sundays, 11:30am-12:30pm
September 15, September 29, October 6
|
|
Join Rev. Vicki in the sanctuary after Fellowship Hour to learn about the ministry of the church during her sabbatical from November 10-May 10, 2020. Who is doing what? Where are you needed?
In the absence of the minister, the congregation has an opportunity to hear a variety of perspectives from the pulpit and to connect with each other and with newcomers in a particularly intimate way, discovering or strengthening each one's own ministerial awareness and gifts.
The Sabbatical Chat will take about 15 minutes, after which those who would like to can stay for hands-on training for involvement with worship services, ushering and greeting.

Our Beautiful Church Property
|
|
Dear Friends,
It's been a busy couple of months on our beautiful property as we have been working on a number of repair and maintenance projects.
Several trees have been removed for safety reasons around the parking lots and playground. Repairs continue on the building and gutters, which have been leaking for some time. This required the removal of some trees around the building. We also took this opportunity to prune our beautiful fir and dogwood in the courtyard.
Our work in the courtyard will continue for another couple weeks. Once completed, we will be moving our new benches into the area for everyone to enjoy the ambiance of our beautiful courtyard, just as the butterfly above is enjoying our space.
Thank you for your continued support.

Courtyard/Sanctuary Window Repairs
|
|
Our repairs continue in the sanctuary and our courtyard. At various points in the process you may see areas boarded up, and we want to remind everyone that no one should enter the courtyard. It is a construction site and some construction materials are being stored under tarps. Thank you for your patience!

Sharing Our Sunday Offerings September-June
|
|
One charitable organization or cause will be chosen each month; each Sunday our offertory will benefit both the church and the charity.
How this works:
-
Cash:
All cash in the Sunday collection is split 50/50 between the church and the current charity.
-
Cash Offering Envelopes:
Envelopes on the usher's table, with a check-off list on the front, can be use to designate a cash donation to the church only or the charity only.
Checks:
-
To donate only to the charity - make checks payable to the charity, as listed in the charity's description (see below).
-
To split your donation between the church and the charity - make checks payable to UUCGL with 50/50 on the memo line.
-
To pay your pledge only - make checks payable to UUCGL with pledge on the memo line.
This information can be found in each Sunday's Order of Service.
