Each of our member churches has an annual cycle of events. This includes things like your Annual Meeting, the start of Sunday School and choir in the Fall, and the Season of Advent. In a similar way, the NACCC has an annual cycle of events.
For instance, every year the NACCC needs nominees for leadership positions. Every year, member churches contribute to the Shared Ministries Fund (SMF). Although deadlines for these important things are months away, with leadership nominations due January 15, and SMF contributions due March 31 it is never too early to begin planning for both.
Consider folks in your congregation who would be a good fit to serve the NACCC and complete the nomination form. Act now so your church’s contribution to the SMF will arrive well in advance of March 31. Your early attention to these things will benefit your Association, and we thank you.
One Great Hour of Sharing
2020 Natural Disasters
Julie Robie, Missions Administrator
Thank you! A One Great Hour of Sharing appeal was launched in late August to enable the NACCC through the Mission and Outreach Ministry Council to respond quickly to needs resulting from natural disasters. Funds have already started to arrive in the NACCC office. Please share the appeal with your churches, mission councils or individuals who might wish to contribute. More details and donation information can be found on our website.
Dan Drea, Chief Financial Officer
COVID-19 has affected all facets of our lives, including financial markets which have fluctuated wildly throughout 2020. Churches of the NACCC continue to navigate, maintain, and grow financial resources to support their ministries. As a service to our churches, the NACCC invites your congregation to participate in the Congregational Investment Trust (CIT). The CIT employs the vast financial resources of Vanguard.
Working within the framework of the Trust’s Investment Policy Statement, Vanguard has developed a total return portfolio that targets a 65%/35% mix of equity investments to fixed income securities. This combination is designed to provide robust returns at an acceptable risk tolerance level. Since partnering with Vanguard in January of 2013, these investments produced a return of 6.85% net of fees. A special welcome to East Freetown Congregational Christian Church of East Freetown, MA,our newest member church to the CIT. To learn more about the CIT, please call me at 414-856-1616 or email me.
