Welcome, Friends!
Rev. Dr. Ashley Cleere, Executive Director
|
A saying often paraphrased is attributed to Charles Darwin: “A man's friendships are one of the best measures of his worth.” In an email conversation about a Listening Tour stop, a church member wrote: “We may include an opportunity for you to meet with the members of the Interfaith Council since they are our closest allies and friends.” Churches celebrate relationships with neighboring congregations, historical societies, social service agencies, camps, addiction recovery groups, and schools. In the category of friends by another name, the NACCC has “mission partners” around the globe and “recognized ministries.” Strong friendships comprise the NACCC. Institutional friends, like personal friends, enrich our lives. As we look to the future, we hope to expand our circle of friendship, collaborating with others to care for the world God has entrusted to our care.

Way of Reconciliation Course Offered
Julie Robie, NACCC Missions Coordinator
|
The Pilgrim Center for Reconciliation is a recognized ministry of the NACCC. The work of the Pilgrim Center brings “hope and healing by renewing individuals, restoring relationships, and revitalizing communities through the ministry of reconciliation.” President Rev. Dr. Jim Olson and US Ministry Director Anna Jeide-Detweiler offered two reconciliation workshops at this year’s conference. We share this invitation for an upcoming event:
Join the Pilgrim Center for the Way of Reconciliation Course: Journey from the Inside Out, starting Tuesday, September 20th from 7:30pm – 9:00pm ET. This interactive course explores reconciliation as a personal journey that leads to shalom. Topics covered include the progression of reconciliation, the pathway of forgiveness, principles of peacemaking, and the process of becoming a change agent.
This virtual six-week course occurs every Tuesday from September 20th through October 25th, 7:30pm - 9:00pm ET. For more information, www.pilgrimcenter.org.

Counting Our Blessings
Debby Fulton, Director of Development & Communications

Moving from one season to another is a good time to reflect on your many blessings. We at the NACCC are blessed with an amazing group of donors for whom we are thankful. They include individuals who are no longer with us but had the forethought to leave a gift to the NACCC or Congregational Foundation through their Will or a Bequest. Our dedication and commitment to Congregationalism and church members have led many individuals to their forever gift decision, and for that we are grateful.
Consider joining others in our 1620 Planned Giving Society, by making your forever gift to the NACCC. Our 1620 members are faithful and generous donors who are, or were, committed during their lifetime to advancing the Congregational Way, and through their gifts support our future growth and development.

The basics of healthy boundaries will be taught with an emphasis on power and vulnerability, and discussions on transference, friendships, dating,
dual relationships, and self-care. All clergy currently serving NACCC congregations are invited to enroll at no charge.
Workshop is virtual on November 4th & 5th
