Superintendent's Message
A Message from Superintendent Layton
We have a big football game coming up against Grandview September 20th. Homecoming is around the corner on October 11th. We have a lot of Tigers in action in several sports, so come out and support them!

We are very proud of our school ratings and "A" district rating, what a great job by our students, teachers and staff.

We would also like to thank the parents and community for their continued support for our students. Malakoff is the district where great things continue to happen.

It's a great day to be a Tiger. Get your claws up!
Malakoff Education Foundation
MEF Grants and Gala
For many years, Malakoff Educational Foundation has been tireless in their efforts to support the teachers of MISD. The Foundation has awarded thousands of dollars in grants to our teachers.

The MEF will host a Meet & Greet on October 1st in the new Culinary Arts room at the High School. We encourage everyone to come out and get involved with our education foundation and to check out our culinary program.

The students participating in Culinary Arts are so excited to be in the program and to be able to work in a professional style kitchen. The students are not only taught cooking techniques, they also learn safety and sanitation procedures as well as menu preparation and budgets.
Tiger Tribute
Check out our Tiger Tributes!
Board Member Jerry Spiva shared this idea with us. What a great way for the employees of MISD to receive the thanks they deserve!

Another Great Week at TES
It was a great week for TES because mentors started visiting and we’re so thankful. The mentors went above and beyond by surprising us with teacher supplies. The students enjoy meeting with their mentor and we see progress in our students because of the program.

We started our only fundraiser for the school year, BIG KAHUNA! If a student sells 10 items they will be invited to a BIG KAHUNA bus party! The students are already receiving collectibles for selling items! We like this fundraiser because they really have a lot of great prizes for our students to earn.

Being a TIGER is Grrrreat!

The Word of the Week
Malakoff Elementary had a great week! TPRI is almost complete and RTI meetings will begin next week.

Kindergarten students had career day where they dressed in attire for what career they want to do. They looked amazing!

The first six weeks is winding down and award ceremony’s will be held at the end of the six weeks. Parents, be sure to attend to show your support for your student!
