Email sent Sept. 15 by Jada Taylor, Admin Assistant III - Office of Legal Services/HR/DPS

Submitted by Tyreece Echols, Apprenticeship Outreach & Partnership Coordinator TEchols@tcsg.edu

Macon, Ga. - Nearly 50 workforce professionals representing Local Workforce Development Areas (LWDAs) from across Georgia attended the WorkSource Georgia Apprenticeship Bootcamp, hosted by Apprentice Georgia, on Monday, August 18th, at the Middle Georgia Regional Commission. This full-day training equipped participants with essential knowledge and tools to support the expansion of registered apprenticeships statewide. Attendees left with actionable resources to strengthen regional efforts and promote apprenticeship opportunities in their communities—ensuring they can serve as knowledgeable resources for employers and partners across Georgia.

Welcome!

Please welcome Rod Reyna-Elizondo, who joined the MSFW Outreach Program on August 18 as our newest Outreach Representative. Rod is housed at the Americus Career Center and brings over 15 years of clerical and administrative experience to the team.

Having once been a farmworker himself, Rod has a deep personal understanding of the challenges faced by the migrant and seasonal farmworker community. This background and unique understanding will help Rod connect the workers with the resources, training, and support they need.

Last Week in LMI

Submitted by Joshua Geyer, Senior LMI Specialist jgeyer@tcsg.edu

Hello and welcome back to Last Week in LMI. Today, we’ll be mapping the unemployment rate across all Georgia counties. While the state as a whole had an unemployment rate of 3.6% in July 2025, that topline figure masks significant regional variation. At the county level, unemployment ranges from 7.1% in Cherokee County to 2.8% in Worth County. See the map below to find your county.

Time & Effort Update

Submitted by Darrien Moore, Director of Grants & Finance DMoore@tcsg.edu & Annie Harp, Administrative Assistant II AHarp@tcsg.edu

Time & Effort forms are a necessary part of the WorkSource Georgia world; consider them our versions of timesheets. Several staff submit these on a bi-annual basis while others are required to submit monthly. OWD Administrative Assistant Annie Harp is collecting these for submission and several folks who fall under the "semi-annual" process have yet to submit their past due T&E forms to her. Please continue to be on the lookout for an email from Annie (AHarp@tcsg.edu) with a Time & Effort subject line; this is NOT spam!

Additionally, those on the monthly schedule should submit their July and August forms if they haven't already done so. If you are unsure which T&E applies to you and/or how to properly fill out the form(s), please contact your supervisor, Darrien or Annie. There are also simple instructional videos below. Thanks for your cooperation!
