Pharmacy Professor Wins 2025 Google Research Scholar Award

A Notre Dame of Maryland University pharmacy professor has received the highly selective 2025 Google Research Scholar Award, recognizing early-career faculty around the world for their innovative research. NDMU is one of only two Maryland institutions to receive this year’s award.

Dr. Salahuddin Mohammed, an assistant professor in the School of Pharmacy & Health Professions, received a $60,000 research award to study Alzheimer’s disease risk in traditionally underrepresented populations using advanced machine-learning analyses. He will lead a team of student researchers to analyze large clinical datasets and build models that help predict disease risk and progression.

Students Pack Lunch Bags to Address Food Insecurity in 9/11 Service Projects

Thank you to the students who volunteered in 9/11 service projects, assembling hundreds of lunch bags for five community organizations that address food insecurity, including Caroline's Cupboard on NDMU's campus. Led by the NDMU Office of Community Engagement and Service Learning, the service projects were part of a nationwide day of action on college and university campuses.

The first service project took place at the Library's Fall Fest on September 4. The second one, Hands Across Campus, took place on September 11 and included a visit from Maryland State Delegate Eric Ebersole (District 44A).
