You're warmly invited to our next monthly Taizé Service on Sunday, September 28, at 4:00 p.m.
Step into a space of peace and stillness, where soft candlelight, simple chants, scripture, and silence create a gentle, reflective atmosphere. Rooted in the tradition of the Taizé Community in France, this contemplative service offers a chance to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with the presence of the Divine.
Taizé services are designed to be inclusive, peaceful, and spiritually nourishing, making them especially meaningful for anyone seeking quiet renewal in the midst of life’s busyness.
All are welcome—come as you are, and find rest for your soul.

Volunteers Needed for Sunday School
(2 Assistants)
We’re looking for two assistant volunteers for Sunday School on Sunday, September 28th from 10:00–11:00am. Assistants support the Sunday School teachers and help the class run smoothly.
What assistants do:
- Welcome kids and help with check-in
- Assist during lessons, supplies, and crafts
- Encourage participation in activities
- Quick tidy-up at the end
Your presence matters—kids feel seen, supported, and safe when caring adults show up. Please email Jessica Nuñez-LaMarre if you are able.
🌟 Join us for BeTween!
Our BeTween group for 4th–6th graders kicked off last night, and it was such a joy to see their energy and excitement for the year ahead! While games and fun are always part of our evenings, what stood out most was how eager the kids are to serve. They’re already looking forward to the October car wash to raise money for Christmas presents for families in need, as well as November’s food drive.
BeTween is more than a midweek program—it’s a fun, faith-filled space where preteens feel seen, supported, and empowered as they begin to take ownership of their faith journey. Through games, lessons, and service projects, kids learn how to live out their faith in ways that make a real difference.
👉 We’d love for your 4th-6th grader to join us each Wednesday from 6:45–7:30pm.
| | | | FIRST AID/CPR/AED TRAINING | Be ready when it matters most! Join us for First Aid, CPR, and AED Training on Saturday, October 4, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. The cost is only $25, and your training could one day make all the difference. Sign up today and be prepared to save a life! Email Kris by September 27 to register. | | | | |
For many years, Dayspring has supported Arizona ONE Community’s Spotlight on Success Local Heroes Luncheon by providing volunteers on the day of the event. This year’s luncheon will be held on Friday, October 17, from 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Downtown Phoenix.
The luncheon honors individuals and organizations advancing workplace equality and equal treatment in housing, the workforce, and public accommodations. If you’d like to volunteer, please email Suzanne Harbster. To learn more about ONE Community and its impact, please visit onecommunity.com/events.
| | | | Please be aware that Elliot Road is currently undergoing major improvements between Rural and McClintock through the end of November as part of Tempe’s citywide street program. Work will take place daily from 5 a.m.–7 p.m., and access to businesses (including our church) will remain open, though short-term closures and delays are expected. We appreciate your patience and care in navigating construction signs and barricades during this important project. Learn more | | | | Take our quick Interest Survey to explore ways you might get involved. There’s no commitment — just a chance to share your interests and learn about opportunities to connect, serve, and grow in community. Hard copies are available in the narthex (lobby) and church office, or you can access it online HERE. | | |

FALL SERMON SERIES
This Sunday we begin a new sermon series with Pastors Jeff and Michael, Living Well, Dying Well. Together we will explore what it means to live faithfully and face death with hope. Over the next five weeks we will reflect on leaving a meaningful legacy, overcoming the fear of dying, asking honest end-of-life questions, walking through grief, and planning to leave behind treasures that last. Rooted in Scripture, these messages remind us that in both life and death, we belong to God.
