Prairie Arts Council

The Literary Arts Committee creates a place for non-painting, photography and sculpting, i.e. the performing arts (dance, theatre, etc.), writing, and other presentations that further exposure to all cultural endeavors (for example, archaeology, history, local lore, etc.) The intention of the committee is to broaden the public's exposure to everything creative above and beyond what people usually expect from an arts organization. Indiana Landmarks is showcasing some of the region’s landmarks in a one-day event. As part of the experience, several plein air arts groups have been invited to set-up at any of the sites to paint and celebrate the historic buildings. All painters and sketch artists are welcome to join in, paint, and network during the event. This is an open invitation to artists of all skill levels. The historic buildings in Rensselaer are located on Van Rensselaer St.
