National Coaches Week is a week-long public awareness campaign that encourages people in Canada to say thanks and to celebrate the tremendous positive impact coaches have on athletes and their communities. This week puts a spotlight on coaches and gives this, largely volunteer, integral part of Canadian sport a thanks.
With events held across the province and country to celebrate coaching, National Coaches Week provides coaches with the recognition they deserve for the time they devote to ensuring people in Canada live an active, healthy lifestyle. This week, encourage yourself to say thanks coach!
Throughout September, all NCCP multi-sport modules will be discounted up to 50% off, and all Core Training modules will be $25. Take advantage of the FREE eLearning modules offered during National Coaches Week!

School Sessions:
We are excited to launch an initiative in Edmonton and surrounding areas to help grow the game of volleyball for kindergarten to grade 6. We are now booking in-class sessions with schools to introduce Volleyball Canada’s newest version of Volleyball – Smashball.
SMASHBALL is volleyball for kids aged 6-12 played on a modified court in a 3 vs 3 format. There are 5 progressive levels that provide a fun, safe and developmentally appropriate environment for kids to learn volleyball. In SMASHBALL you get to learn to smash/spike right away, there is lots of time to play and learn the cycle of actions that is used in full 6 vs 6 volleyball.
After each session, we will provide teachers with resources to continue to teach the game in their physical education curriculum.
We also provide PD-day sessions where we offer resources and instruction to teach smashball to students.
For more information on cost or to book your in-class session, please reach out to our Early Stages and Camp Coordinator, Dia Syed, at earlystages@volleyballalberta.ca.
