JESUS & CULTURE
September 8th, 2021 - September 26th, 2021, 6:30pm – 8:00pm
LOCATION: SOUTH Building
Today’s Christian teenagers find themselves living in a culture that is antagonistic to much of what they believe. Against this backdrop, how do they know how to engage with culture in a way that keeps their influence intact, but keeps them from being negatively impacted by the world? The good news is that Jesus had lots to say about this. By looking at what Jesus had to say about culture Students will understand how to live as Christ-followers in the world they find themselves living in. Students will learn how to embrace being separate from the world but still living in it; how their lives as Christ-followers will be counter-cultural; how they are affected by what they consume of culture through media and entertainment; and that Christ’s ultimate goal for them is to embrace holiness in their interactions with culture.
This week, pray…
Monday: (A) God, how gracious You are to instruct us in Your ways.
Tuesday: (A) God, only You can show us how to make peace with our enemies.
Wednesday: (C) God, we desire a transformed, cleaned-out heart that only You can do.
Thursday:(T) God, great are Your blessings. We are overwhelmed by Your kindness to us.
Friday: (S) God, please guide our leaders, governmental and other to lead us back to You.
Saturday: God, You care for the poor and Bless us with the opportunity to serve them.
Sunday: God, give us desperation for our "Three" that do not know You.
Verse of the week: Ephesians 1:11-12
“In Him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of Him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His Will, in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of His glory.”
