Welcome Back!
We are excited to share our newsletter! The newsletter will be published weekly and will be filled with information about our school and our students. We hope that you find this a great resource while learning about all the wonderful things happening at Peabody!

It's been a terrific first week. Our returning students were eager to jump back into the swing of things, and our new students (all  42  of them!) have joined right in. It has been a joy to see students getting to know one another, setting goals, sharing stories, and already diving into learning!

Dismissal Procedure Reminders
In an effort to be mindful of our neighboring businesses, we'd like to remind you of the following guidelines for dismissal:
  • Do not block other businesses' driveways and/or parking lots
  • Pull off of the road as much as possible when lining up
  • Do not enter or turn around in other businesses' driveways and/or parking lots
  • Stay in your vehicle
The goal of these guidelines is to minimize disruptions to business traffic on our street and we thank you for your support in this matter.

Thanks for your patience as we get to know all the students!

News from our School Counselor, Ms. Bernsen
Welcome back!  It is so exciting watching everyone coming back this first week. Every year I like to get to know all of the students and give them an opportunity to get to know me and see my room.  Over the first couple of months, I will be inviting all of the students in grades k-5 to come have lunch with me in small groups.  These are not regular social groups, this is just a one time lunch to have fun, play games and take some time to get to know each other.  If you would not like your child to participate please let me know.  Or if you have any questions or concerns throughout the year, please don't hesitate to ask!
This Week in Middle School
Our Peabody middle schoolers had a great first week together. After spending time in advisories discussing the theme of community, the students created a shared set of Group Norms for Middle School, establishing expectations for sharing space, communicating with one another, and dealing with conflict. A special shout-out to seventh grader Len for creating the "Peabody School Community" banner featuring the name of every student and teacher in the building! Come stop by the Batten building to see the poster in real life.

Students have also already started easing into academics during our few days together. A reminder that all middle school students need to bring their signed Chromebook user agreement (given to them today) to school on Tuesday September 6th in order to receive their Chromebook for the year!
