Kids Say the Wisest Things
Anyone else anxious, or exhausted? Our TFCE children have wisdom to share! That’s right, I’m finally sharing some of the questions our children have been wrestling with. I hope it provides a glimpse into how incredible our kids are!
Kid One: Does being scared mean I don’t trust God?
Kid Two Answers: Jesus had emotions and He trusted God.
Brilliant and simple! Having anxiety doesn’t mean you lack faith. Even Jesus wept.
Kid One: Is it okay to be angry with God?
Kid Two Answers: I’m currently angry, and I’m still here (in church). I think it’s more about what you do with it then how you feel. I mean, in today’s story God told them to just walk around a wall to make it come down. My dad is an architect, that’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. I’d be thinking that the whole time, but the important thing is I would still walk.
Yes, you can be angry with God. God can take your anger; God just doesn’t want to lose you to it.
Kid One: I’m tired of being called a sheep for wearing a mask. I’m tired of COVID! Why can’t we just love people?
Kid Two Answers: Aren’t we called to be sheep? That’s why God is our shepherd, right? Don’t forget, some people have never learned how to love people. That’s when we get to be the shepherd and teach them how to be better sheep by loving them.
“That’s when we get to be shepherds,” what a powerful statement! We love the least and the difficult, and we love ourselves because God does.
I hope you enjoyed wisdom from our kids! It’s not too late to volunteer with them or register children for Formation. I can’t wait to see how God will use our children this year in Formation and I hope you can be a part of it!
