Upper Chattahoochee Chapter #436 - Trout Unlimited
www.ucctu.org
September 2015

September is the start of the fall season of cooler temperatures, falling leaves, and hopefully hungry trout.  As we look forward to the new season I am reminded of some of the activities scheduled between now and the end of October and the volunteers who make these events possible.

On September 19 Bass Pro Shop is hosting a fly tying fundraiser, Tie One On.  On September 20 Chattahoochee Nature Center is hosting an outdoor activities day that will include fly tying and fly casting.  And at the Kids Fishing Derby at Buford Dam on September 26 we will have casting, tying and other activities to promote TU and its mission.  Anyone interested in helping with these events should contact Tom Hayes at [email protected].

The September meeting will be an opportunity to hear about the great fishiing opportunities in North Carolina where we will travel for the Chapter's fall fishing trip.  It will also be an opportunity to participate in our annual business meeting and election of officers.  We hope to see you then.

Sincerely,
Jim

Volunteer Opportunities
SEPT 26th: DNR Outdoor Adventure Days
We need two fly tyers, two casting instructors, and plenty of volunteers to help kids fish from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 26th.  This is a really fun event at Lower Pool Park at Buford Dam where about 2,500 trout will be stocked for the kids to catch.  Many of us stick around after the event to try to catch a few ourselves.  Free sodas and hot dogs are there for kids and volunteers alike.

Please let Tom Hayes know which events you would like to volunteer for at [email protected] and we look forward to seeing you next month!
