Every artist goes through spiritless seasons. When the world looks a little hazy and inspiration is hard to find. Rejection letters and hopeless attempts at new material are disheartening. The wind just doesn't blow in the right direction and it's easy to feel discouraged.
This painting
Brushfire is the emergence from a melancholy spell. As a small soul-fire is lit, the moon moves into optimal position and the stars align. Dreams of glowing lava and turquoise dragons reveal an awakening. Colors look more vibrant and the glossy sunshine against a display of floral excellence unearths a new muse.
